my car

one of my favorite environments to be in is my car. I drive a blue 1989 cadillac broughme. The car is huge, the back seat can easily hold five people, and the front seat is a bench seat which allows for family shotgun seating, but even with its luxury size status it is not without its imperfections. It has run perfectly up until last weekend, when it finally just stopped working, but i still love the car. I love the thing because fit into a normal everyday parking spot, which also pretty much excludes it from being parallel parked altogether. The ceiling is starting to cave in, all the fabric now droops down to almost head level. The ceiling itself is made of some kind of foam that feels like the tempur pedic foam on tv, so its kind of fun to play with. The windshield leaks whenever it rains and drips water onto the driver as well. The fuel gauge does not work either, so you always kind of have to ball park how much gas you have and try and remember when the last time you filled up the tank, and considering that it only gets about 15 miles per gallon you have to be on your toes about it. My horn sounds like a train passing by, which is hilarious because whenever I actually have to use it people hear it and just laugh. Every now and then something will just stop working, like the windshield wipers or some lights on the dash, but whatever it is always comes back in a half hour or so, which always makes it an interesting time whenever I get in my car, I never know what works and what doesn’t. But with all its short comings aside its still a great car, and is fun to drive. Its definitely a classic, and drives like a boat, its great fun. I have not had the car longer than this summer, so we’ll see how it drives during the winter months, there probably will be a whole new array of things to deal with, but i have every confidence in my cars abilities.
